DAVE STONE
The Dave Stone Grant was created in December 2009 in memory of Retired Rear Admiral David M. Stone, a senior executive at Cisco Systems, Inc., in Bangalore and a board member of FORGOTTEN CHILDREN who recently passed away.
As a board member, Dave consistently had creative ideas to help our small organization which works to prevent child labor through education one child at a time. Dave was an exceptional person and a charismatic leader, one who led by example. Words cannot express his kindness, generous spirit and empathy. We are reassured that his beloved wife (Faith) will remain on our board and will carry forward his torch. Please know that FORGOTTEN CHILDREN will use your donation in memory of Dave Stone or designated to the Dave Stone Grant entirely on educational activities (without deduction for administrative and overhead expenses) to improve the lives of poor children and their families, primarily in India.
During his life, Dave manifested the importance of education. Raised in Algonquin, Illinois, he was class president of his high school class and an All-State basketball player. In all of his professional roles (Navy officer rising to Admiral, head of security at Los Angeles International Airport, director of the Transportation Security Administration, and Cisco executive),Dave was a leader and role model to young and old – a true educator.
