History
of FORGOTTEN CHILDREN's involvement in Haiti
FORGOTTEN
CHILDREN worked for a couple of years in collaboration with local
grassroots organizations in Gonaives. The
mother-daughter project helped a girl to go to school and a
mother to improve her meager income.
Le
plateau Javel (near Miragoane) The
school
L'ecole
primaire de Javel was in need of help. There were four classes in
two rooms. Each room was divided in two classes (without wall). On
one side there was a teacher and a board, on the other side of the
classroom, there was another teacher and a board. About 60 children
were squeezed on benches in each room. There was no electricity or
water on the grounds.

The
mothers
They waited for us. They walked
for hours and put on their best clothes. These women worked in the
field and went once a week to market to sell their products. It took
them 5 hours one way! Our interest-free loans allowed them to
improve their income.

Haiti is
a forgotten country and is in need of help.

FORGOTTEN CHILDREN is
an IRS 501(c)(3) approved tax deductible charity #54-1716373.
